We in Operations have today been advised by Senior Management that there will be some changes being made by your Employers to the Central European Salary scales and Leave scales primarily on Concordia vessels. The details will be advised later today by your Employers.
Ahead or this, and to assist all officers making the right decision about their own future there are a few facts that all Central European officers should be aware of:
· Your present terms and conditions are at number 1 (top) level above all comparable competition within Ship Management companies and for this reason need to be reduced to commercial pressures and weak charter rates for the vessels.
· There is a significant number of surplus officers registered with manning agencies, industry wide, who are prepared to wait for up to 9 months to work on Stena vessels. There is no shortage of eligible ranks.
· We in NMM FG2 would ask that all officers of all ranks on Central European scales consider their futures very carefully as there is still a future here for you on PMax / Concordia vessels albeit at a reduced level.
· Leaving your employer and attempting to come back at a later date may not be straight forward if the available positions have been taken by others.
· The reductions are necessary to survive.
