We have an opportunity for a First Officer Engineer to join us on either one of our existing vessels or on the arrival of new tonnage to New Zealand.
In this key role as First Officer Engineer you will plan, coordinate and monitor the operation and work of the engineering department to ensure that all relevant systems and equipment are cost effectively maintained in a safe and reliable condition.
You will ensure consistency with the principles of good marine engineering practice to maximise both the strategic and commercial objectives of Interislander.
Your extensive engineering management experience, strong financial exposure to budgets and previous staff management will ensure your success in the role.
Key requirements for applicants include:
Hold either STCW III/2 Chief Engineer Certificate (NZ Class 1 Motor) or Marine Engineer Class 2 Certificate of Competency (MEC2)
Have proven leadership and people management skills.
Have a sound technical knowledge.
Have experience with Planned Maintenance Systems (i.e. Amos).
At Interislander all live on-board staff are rostered 7 days on and 7 days off, with Wednesday as changeover day.
